Impossible Beauty Standards

Why is it that women are still struggling to maintain or achieve impossible beauty standards?! The models that we see in magazines are airbrushed to perfection. How can a real human being with real skin, bones and flesh look like a doll or a photoshopped picture?

The beauty in being human is in accepting and understanding the differences that each one of us has been gifted with. If the entire world wants only a certain kind of model body and manages to make every woman blonde, blue-eyed and like a barbie doll, will this world be beautiful?

If every flower looks like a lotus or a rose, will the world become a more pretty place?

The variety that we see in nature is also present in human beings. The difference in colour, shape, size and features adds to the world and does not take anything from it.

It is our ignorance to stick to these impossible and quite frankly outdated standards that bring misery to every woman. I talk about women because I am one and I am familiar with the female psyche.

To keep fit and become strong are goals that are worth it for the sake of achieving good health, longevity and improving the quality of one’s life. However, to obsess so much to achieve perfection is a curse that a lot of women have placed on themselves.

Break free of the mental shackle of perfection! Instead, rejoice and celebrate a wonderful you who can transform the world through your words, thoughts and deeds. At the end of the day, only those count.
